(EN) When I saw Víctor perform with the UJI Big Band, of which he is co-conductor, I marvelled at the ingenuity of his approach to improvisation, which goes way beyond any convention. I was determined to play with him! After accepting my invitation to become a member of the CIM.CS (Castelló Music Improvisation Collective), we finally got together in his native town of l’Alcora and managed to record these tracks. This was the first time any of the group members got together to play, so we see ‘Openings’ as the first seed of the CIM.CS' forthcoming interventions.

(CAT) Quan vaig veure actuar a Víctor amb la Big Band de la UJI, de la qual és codirector, em vaig meravellar de la ingenuïtat de la seua aproximació a la improvisació, que va molt més enllà de qualsevol convenció. Vaig decidir que faria música amb ell! Després d’acceptar la meva invitació per formar part del CIM.CS (Col·lectiu d’Improvisació Musical de Castelló), finalment ens vam reunir a la seva ciutat natal de l’Alcora i vam enregistrar estes peces. Esta va ser la primera vegada que membres del grup es reunien per tocar, de manera que considerem ‘Openings’ la primera llavor de les properes intervencions del CIM.CS.
